2019 Acura RDX in Concord, near Oakland

The 2019 Acura RDX in Concord is All-New and Ready to Lead the Class

For the longest time, the Acura RDX remained a premium crossover in top competition among compact five-seater SUVs, one that valued effective capability and smarter technology over sheer flash and flair. While the all-new 2019 Acura RDX hasn't compromised an inch on capability or smarts--its complete redesign has adopted a much sharper style and an eye-catching look. Even loaded with standard features, the Acura RDX still offers a lower starting price* than competitors like the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60. The newest model isn't separated into trim levels, but offers package options instead: Standard, Technology Package, A-Spec® Package, and Advance Package. Make a trip from the Oakland area today and see the Acura RDX difference for yourself. Read on to learn more.

A Newly-Updated Interior Meant for Taking the Long Way Home

Rare is the SUV that's as well-suited for bold and adventurous young explorers as it is for busy families. The 2019 Acura RDX, however, has been redesigned to fit any lifestyle with ease. Thanks to an updated Active Sound Control noise-cancellation system, your quiet cabin is as comforting for the commute home as it is for a late-night cruise to settle a fussy baby. This SUV offers 29.5 cubic feet of standard storage area behind the second row (+3 cu. ft. more than the last generation), and 58.9 cubic feet of standard cargo area behind the front row (slightly less than the last generation).

Inside, the 2019 Acura RDX comes fully loaded with tons of standard interior features: dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, premium upholstery, and a massive panoramic moonroof. Available 16-way power adjustable seats offer multi-stage heating and cooling functions, and can be dressed in gorgeous full-grain Milano leather. Small touches--from the addition of intuitive thumbwheels on the steering wheel in place of the conventional toggle, to attractive Natural Olive Ash Burl Wood accents--really set this SUV apart.

An Updated Chassis Gives the New Acura RDX a Larger Presence

Though the 2019 Acura RDX may offer much of the functionality of a typical compact SUV, it takes fashion and style to a new level. This new crossover is built on a completely redesigned chassis, making it larger than its previous generation in length, width, and wheelbase. This larger road presence, however, doesn't bloat the overall sleek, agile look of Acura's newest SUV. For 2019, the older winged grille has been replaced with the eye-catching Diamond Pentagon grille that we're seeing on new Acura releases, and the Acura RDX adds Acura Jewel Eye LED Headlights and LED taillights, and exposed dual exhaust outlets.

The all-new 2019 Acura RDX is now available with Acura's sport A-Spec® Package, which adds commanding 20-inch wheels, exclusive badging, and an A-Spec®-specific front and rear fascia design.

2019 Acura RDX Specs and Performance

Acura made a slightly surprising decision for the new 2019 MY, but one which pays off in performance, sport feel, efficiency, and overall enjoyment of the ride. The past V-6 engine--which was a staple of Acura RDX power for years--has been removed, replaced with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder good for 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. That is a slight dip in horsepower (down 7 HP from the V6) but a 28 pound-foot boost over the previous powertrain. The turbo four is the only engine option for the 2019 Acura RDX, but there are two available drivetrains: front-wheel drive (standard) and Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD), one of the most advanced AWD systems on the luxury market.

The thrilling 2019 Acura RDX also offers an updated Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) driving-mode selector, inspired by the iconic Acura NSX. Different driving modes can customize steering, throttle response, and more to give you the feel you're looking for. Modes include Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Sport+.

Smarter, Touchable Tech and More Standard Safety Features

The base 2019 Acura RDX Standard is a great value, and arrives well-equipped with all of the tech and safety that you need--including the updated Acura True Touchpad Interface, which lets you use the standard 10.2-Inch HD Dual-Content Center Display, steering-wheel controls, or a responsive touchpad, located below the shift column on the center console, to navigate and select options. For 2019 models, Apple CarPlay integration comes standard on even the Standard package.

But luxury SUVs in Concord are about so much more than just what you need--they're all about what you want, and it's incredibly tempting to add packages to your new crossover to get upgraded infotainment options, advanced navigation and detailed maps, and premium sound. Audio options for 2019 include an all-new 16-speaker, 710-watt surround-sound Acura ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System, that was developed exclusively for Acura, and, specifically, for the all-new 2019 Acura RDX.

The AcuraWatch package options is included as standard, with a suite of features that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and mitigation, and adaptive cruise control. Opt for the Technology package, and you get all that plus blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors. Add the Advance package for auto-dimming side mirrors for a head-up display and a 360-degree view camera. It's safety from head to toe.
