2019 Acura RDX vs Audi Q5

The Acura RDX has been fully redesigned for the 2019 model year, with a fresh and aggressive new exterior, new technology, and a state-of-the-art cabin.

Watch the video above to see how the competitive new 2019 Acura RDX matches up to the 2018 Audi Q5 compact SUV.

Or, take a look at our highlights to see whether the Audi Q5 or the Acura RDX is going to be the better fit for your family and your Concord lifestyle.

Power & Performance

The 2019 Acura RDX is the clear winner in performance, with a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine that's good for 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The Audi Q5 also has a 2.0-liter turbo engine, but it falls a little short with just 252 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. Acura employs an eight-speed automatic transmission in its new SUV, while Audi only offers a seven-speed. The Acura RDX was engineered to handle and feel a lot more like a sports car--not a typical SUV; Acura really focused on the "sport" in Sport Utility Vehicle.

Style and Design

Let's be real--the look of a luxury crossover is a big reason to buy one. When you're spending the money for a standout SUV, you want it to stand out. The 2019 Acura RDX's new exterior design features a prominent character line that cuts from front to back, and a large, signature grille that stands out with a bold presence. The 2018 Audi Q5 hasn't been radically changed in its exterior styling in quite a few years, and while it's not a bad look, it's not keeping up to the standards set by Acura.
