The Acura RDX Posts New Sales Record for the Year

When the 2019 Acura RDX model first dropped a few months back, we had no doubts that it would quickly rise to become a popular option.

But the Acura RDX nameplate is exceeding even our highest expectations for it.

There are still a few weeks left in the 2018 calendar year, and the Acura RDX has already set a new annual sales record, with total year-to-date sales topping 52,361 SUVs sold--the former annual record for the nameplate that was set in 2016. As of now, the Acura RDX is one of the best-selling (retail) premium midsize SUV in its category.

With so many worthy competitors, that's no small feat.

Official sales reports don't give an exact number for models sold, and Acura didn't specify what number of models sold were 2019 versus 2018 model-years.

More Than 50,000 New Acura RDX Sold

Luxury brands--with their unique type of exclusivity--understandably post lower sales numbers than their economy brand cousins. So, topping 50K in sales for a single model during the year is an exciting thing, and having the new Acura RDX do it so effortlessly speaks to the true quality, character, and appeal of the Acura brand.

The Acura RDX isn't just one of the few luxury models to hit these numbers--it's also the only premium midsize CUV in its segment to post sales numbers in excess of 50,000 units every year starting in 2015--four straight years of satisfying tens of thousands of drivers with smooth luxury looks and great performance.
